  1. 1. Who is your vouch in Collapsed Out

    1.

While I do not have a vouch in Collapsed Out, I hope that my time in PL has shown a little about me.  I really don’t like stirring up shit, and kinda keep to myself. I’m also fairly active and don’t really come across too stupid.

  2. 2. How long have you been playing Eve Online?

    1.

I’ve been playing the game since April of 2016 with a short break in the winter of 2017 due to an internship abroad.

  3. 3. What do you like to do in EVE Online?

    1.

The things that really keep me in this game is the pvp with an emphasis on the large scale battles.  The most intriguing thing about this game is the interactions between alliances, the mechanics surrounding wars and conflict, and the strategy required to maintain a large presence in the game.  I also thoroughly enjoy blopsing and small gang stuff when I can get a group together.

  4. 4. Give us a brief biography of your EVE career.

    1.

I was first introduced into the game by an acquaintance I barely knew.  I had heard of the game, and saw him playing on steam. After talking to him a little bit, I decided to make an account and hop right in.  I was up in highsec for a month while getting acquainted with the game, and eventually got super bored and asked my friend for advice on groups to join.  He sent me to a renter alliance down in drone lands where I spent almost a full year. When I first got down there I really knew nothing, and eventually spent enough time in comms to get to know people fairly well.  I made great friends with sinpwnz0rz, and he was the one who really got me interested in the pvp aspect of eve. The only pvp experiences I got down in dronelands were small gang stuff when other people would roam into our space.  I had a great community down there, until we all decided to go our separate ways mainly due to the alliance dying. Everyone was done with the renting life, and I wanted to really expand into an alliance specifically focused on pvp.  I started applying to Waffles as they seemed to be the best place for me to challenge myself, learn and grow. I was asked to join Horde first to pad my killboard and show that I was serious and wouldn’t go afk, and then I had the opportunity to join Waffles. I was in Waffles for about a month before I had to go afk due to a study abroad opportunity in China.  When I got back we had joined PL, and that leads us to where I am now.

      1. Really the first time I ever got into pvp.  I remember it perfectly because who doesn’t forget the first time they get the shakes so badly from a video game.  I was extremely new to the game, and trying to figure out the best way to fight zarvox. I was waiting on a gate for him, and after he crashed back into me I pressed f1.  The silly thing is I forgot drone, mvoement, overheating, etc. I was the biggest noob, had no clue what I was doing, and yet it still turned out. While now as I look back it wasn’t a big deal at all, at the time I was very happy and I look back at that specific kill when I wonder what really kept me in this game and pushed me to grow better at pvp.

      2.

    2. https://zkillboard.com/kill/61689541/

      1. Yes I know what you are thinking. Let me first explain the circumstances.  I never was one for solo pvp. It seemed unpredictable, and almost impossible to get a good fight without really knowing what you are doing.  This was the first time I really set out to kill someone by myself instead of blobbing them with a group. I wanted to test my dscan skills, and my ability to determine what is fightable and not.  Anyway this was my first kill solo. Yes it was on a t1 frigate in lowsec, but it sure was rewarding catching and killing him. Oh and moments later I jumped into a gate camp and learned through failure the best way to escape one of those.

      2.

    3. https://zkillboard.com/kill/61709268/

      1. First time using that nyx I bought from krab money.  Baited a blops group that came through a wormhole with a rorqual.  Me and my corp setup on this rorq and had some fun when they finally dropped.  Kinda a bloodbath, but man I really got those shakes using that ship for the first time, and I’ve continually been searching for that feeling.

      2.

  9. 7. Can you fly a FAX machine (what type/ t1 or t2 triage)?

    1.

Not yet, however it is training and I anticipate that I will get my revelation alt into one quite quickly.  When I first got back from China in January I finally started looking into how to incorporate with PL. After learning that a dread and fax alt were mandatory, I started training a dread immediately on a brand new alt.  I put quite some time into getting the isk to inject it, and was able to accomplish a full t2 dread quite quickly through injecting with money I got ingame. Anyway, I’m currently working on getting that same character into a t2 triage apostle and it shouldn’t be long (i’m guessing 1-2 months max).  If it is an issue, I would be willing to plex and inject into an apostle right now.

    2.

  10. 8. Do you own a supercapital/titan?

    1.

      Yep a nyx.

    2.

  11. 9. What do you think you are good at and what would you like to improve at in EVE?

    1.

I think I am good at flying my own ship.  In any situation where anchoring really isn’t an option, I feel totally comfortable in whatever ship I am in from interceptors to carriers.  I am perfectly able to take in the information on the battlefield and maintain the best position while continuing to fight.
    2.

    3. I want to improve on theorycrafting/fitting.  I have never really been in a position to fit a ship as I have mostly taken fits from other people.  Being able to understand that game so in depth to be able to create a fit that is best for the circumstances is something that I aspire to be able to do one day.

    4.

  12. 10. What is your main way of making ISK?

    1.

      Super ratting.

    2.

  13. 11. How did you hear about, and why do you want to joined Collapsed Out?

    1.

While in PL I really came to respect the members of CYNOU, especially doom.  I am feeling a little out of place in my current corp, and wanted to join a group closer in size and feel to my old corp.  When I say that, I mean a tight knit group of friends where everyone knows everyone else.
    2.

  14. 12. On average, how many hours per week do you think you play?

    1.

I play just about every night for a couple of hours during weekdays, and about 7ish hours over the course of a weekend.

    2.

  15. 13. Tell us a bit about your real self.

    1.

      How old are you?

      1. 20

      2.

    2. Where are you from?

      1. Oregon, United States.  The most beautiful state in the US.

      2.

    3. What do you do outside of EVE such as work or play?

      1. Currently getting an undergrad degree in Computer Science.  Outside of class I enjoy hunting, camping, and going to star parties with my local astronomy club.

    2.

  1. 15. There’s a ping that goes out for a fleet forming and at the same time a ping from Jeffraider goes out for his movie night, what do you do?

    1.

While it depends on the type of fleet, why can’t I do both? At least hop into the movie halfway after the fleet is over.
    2.

  2. 16.How many WHs is it worth taking to get a slightly possible capkill/fight?

    1.

I mean it's hard to put an exact number on it. I feel like the number of jumps increases as the potential fight at the end also increases.  However you really should know how much is too much once the attitude in the fleet changes. I’m okay with going through a couple of wormholes on a typical Havoc fleet :)

Lets say you're gating a small group of super-carrier and carrier class capital ships through lowsec 1 mid away when suddenly theres some heavy interdictor cruisers on the gate ready to point you. The so called man in charge begins to whiteknuckle as an enemy battleship fleet and small detachment of dreadnaught-class capital ships begin pouring through a cynosural field to kill you. You realize that someone needs to step up and take charge or you're all dead. What commands do you give and what actions do you take to make sure that you and your friends aren't doomed to feed?

First of all I don't think its a great idea to be gating supers in lowsec out of range of any help without even scouting the route. If put into this situation a lot of things have already gone wrong.

Anyway, to actually answer your question.  If we had only a couple of supers/carriers and nothing else with nothing else in immediate range and we are all sitting on a gate at zero I would first make sure that the correct irc channel was pinged so that others can work alongside us on saving us.  On grid I would make sure that fire was concentrated on the hics that are holding us.  I would also be coordinating an out cyno somewhere in range on a friendly structure.  Once the hics are dead, either jump the gate with the group or jump out to the cyno if cap wasn't too much of an issue.  If we weren't on the gate at zero, I would first make sure that everyone is aligned out and if the dreads have gotten primary below jump cap before the hics are dead then they would simply warp out first.

If for whatever reason it doesn't look like we will be able to kill the hics (too many of them, not enough dps, whatever) I would be coordinating with a response fleet (to be clear a response fleet would be getting prepared at the beginning due to the ping).  If it looks like we will be stuck on grid I would have the fax alts in range jump to one of the capital cynos (I mean there better be faxs in range if we are gating supers).  That will allow us to feed some fax machines before they are able to focus on the supers and by then the response fleet should be in the mid capping up and waiting out their short orange timer to come and save our retarded asses.

But lowsec! yay no dictor bubbles.

you could also have capitals refit to nuets to try and neut off hics

capital cynos

make sure you light a cyno on one of the carrier and not the supers otherwise you just tackled yourself again!

Capital/Supercapital gameplay is one of the extremely appealing things about eve and there are plenty of opportunities for it in PL.  I've never really had much experience with situations like you are explaining and yet hopefully someday I'll be a capital FC.

Thanks for the advice and thanks for making me think :)

What's the reason for no vouch? Did you even try to get to know someone in corp? It looks pretty lazy.

This is a big question that I am curious about.

Honestly I didn't really think I would be applying through the typical way and didn't expect a true vouch to be necessary because I've been around in PL.  I'm was obviously mistaken about this, and I am sorry for applying without getting to know you guys better.  This was an error on my part.

Yes this can partly be attributed to laziness.  I haven't really put myself out there too much since joining PL, and because of that people wont know me because I keep somewhat quiet on comms just because I still feel new to the alliance. I do really hope to change that, and am looking for a group of friends in cynou.

Let me know if you have more questions regarding this, I understand it is a problem in regards to my application.

This is purely to save money :) I understand the benefits of being able to field both at the same time, but while I've got my sights focused on joining SC Legion someday I'm not sure I can continue to pay for one extra account when it isn't fully required and the benefit isn't really there. For the time being I think I'm going to be stuck with three accounts.
